The Gulf of Poets runs from Portovenere to Lerici, two splendid locations on the Riviera di Levante. La Spezia, the heart of the Gulf, is in the center. The Cinque Terre
The Cinque Terre are 5 ancient fishing villages clinging with all their strength on cliffs overlooking the sea: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Each of these villages is characterized by colorful houses surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, by enchanting bays and wonderful paths. Moving around to discover the Cinque Terre is easy: especially in the summer boats, trains and buses are perfect for moving from one village to another. It is not recommended to reach them by car, since parking, especially in summer, is practically impossible.
